Plumas Unified School District and Plumas County Office of Education are proud to serve the students, families, and communities in four distinct communities, in our rural northeastern California mountain county. PUSD and PCOE serve the students in the 2,613 square miles through four elementary schools, four comprehensive high schools, and eight alternative education sites.

Our county and schools range from Chester in the Lake Almanor north-west region, to Greenville in Indian Valley, to the county seat in Quincy in American Valley and to Portola in the East in Sierra Valley. The driving distance between Chester and Portola is 78 miles with an estimated drive time of approximately two hours. Each community has a TK-6th-grade elementary school and a 7-12th-grade high school.

PUSD/PCOE believes strongly that schools in each community are the best way to educate our students and is committed to maintaining the highest quality education in each of our small school settings. Besides our beautiful location and strong communities, PUSD and PCOE are unique in that one county office of education (PCOE) serves one school district (PUSD). Only eight other counties are structured like this in the state of California. Furthermore, PUSD is a Basic Aid district, referring to the way the school district receives funding through county property taxes and not through the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF).

Welcome to Plumas Christian School, located in Quincy, California, in beautiful Plumas County. Our goal is the preparation of our students for life beyond our classrooms. One of the school's hallmarks is to help students make choices utilizing Godly wisdom as found in the Bible. Our student body consists of pre-school/pre-kindergarten through 6th Grade. Due to our rural mountain area, Plumas Christian School (PCS) has small class sizes, helping each student to receive the attention he/she needs. Our staff and teachers are dedicated to your child's growth in character, and their relationship with Christ. The class subjects are taught from a biblical perspective and the spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical welfare of each child is nurtured. The mission of Plumas Christian is to train Christian students from Christian families in the principles of Godly wisdom for living, and to help each student understand what it means to live out their faith. We desire to help with student character development from a biblical perspective.
