2026 Annual Safe Trick-or-Treat

A Beloved Quincy Tradition Since the ’80s

For decades, the Quincy Chamber of Commerce has been proud to host our annual Safe Trick-or-Treat. Originally created in the 1980s to provide a safe, well-lit environment for children to collect candy without walking through dark neighborhoods at night, this event has become a staple of our community’s Halloween celebrations.

Every Halloween afternoon, merchants throughout downtown and East Quincy open their doors to hand out candy to local kids. To ensure everyone has a safe and spooktacular time, our dedicated volunteers suit up as crossing guards at key intersections to help kids and families cross the streets safely.

Help Us Make 2026 the Best Year Yet

Planning for the 2026 Safe Trick-or-Treat is already underway, and our first planning meeting kicks off this August! This is a community-driven event, and there are lots of ways for you, your business, or your organization to be part of the fun.

Here is how you can get involved:

• 🍬 Participating Businesses: Sign up to be an official stop on the Trick-or-Treat Treasure Map! We welcome merchants throughout Downtown and East Quincy to hand out candy to the kids.
  
• 🙋 Volunteers: We need helping hands! Volunteer to be a crosswalk safety guard, help with event setup, or join the planning committee to bring this event to life.
  
• 🎪 Community Partners: Are you hosting a Halloween community event? Whether it's a pumpkin patch, a festive sale, live music, or a haunted house, the Chamber would love to cross-promote or integrate your event into the main celebration!
